The Survivor´s Guide to getting through major life transitions.

No matter how great a new situation may be, you´re still going to need some mad coping skills. Here are some that have been tried and tested by our staff here at the Survivor´s Guide.

1) Denial.

Note: this method will not be foolproof. This skill is quite useful, though it will crack, causing moments of total freak out. It´s normal. Let it happen. Before you know it, denial will be right back where you want it, ready to serve you.

2) Distraction.

We recommend keeping yourself very busy. Over-scheduling is your friend. Also Shins albums, engrossing books, and pretty things to look at.

3) Prayer.

Disclaimer: if you were to ask us to extrapolate the specifics of our religious beliefs, we would probably do one of four things: fidget uncomfortably, ask you your thoughts, become very interested in the weather, or begin a discussion way lengthier than you had wanted. Nevertheless, talking/listening to God has proven a truly wonderful, life-saving way of maintaining sanity.

4) Gratitude.

For the ability to travel all over the world. For the opportunity to be part of such a rich place and service-oriented organization. For the people you love and who love you no matter where you are. And when you miss your significant other, be grateful for Skype.

Yeah, gotta love the skype, keep blogging, and say hi once in a while if you see me online! Good luck with the work, it's going to be fun, I think.
