Ahh wi-fi!

I finally have technology available to me! Yay! My family does not have internet, and I bought a cell phone whose signal can only be described as crappy. BUT, I have discovered that my office has great internet and SKYPE! I can use it after hours or on weekends. Since I like to be home before dark for safety´s sake, weekends are more likely for calls. Please let me know when I can call you!! And if you have skype!

The family I live with is sweet as sweet can be. They have two sons, four and nine, and for the moment the mom´s sister-in-law is staying there because she just had a baby in March. I got to meet the baby today--she is as tiny and precious and you would imagine. I have my own room, I can have meals with the family every day, and they let me talk to them and play with their kids. Let me just say I am SO glad I did that.

I started my job on Thursday. The organization astounds me with how much great work it does, how well organized it is, and how committed the staff are. I will have big shoes to fill--the woman I´m replacing is incredible and everyone is going to miss her. It will be a big transition for the man I´m supervising, Haroldo. Needless to say, I definitely feel like a fish out of water. Hopefully I can make it work and create a positive relationship with him. It is a great opportunity to learn and try.

I will try to get pictures up soon, and more details! Please keep in touch--I love getting your e-mails even though I might be slow to respond right now before I get solid access to internet!

Hey Robo,
Great to hear how you're doing! It sounds like all is as it should be - stressful and wonderful. Congratulations on making it there and getting your feet wet. We're keeping you in our prayers as well. (Same disclaimer applies re: our theological beliefs).
